Jr. Ruby on Rails Developer
Brian traveled a wandering path to Planet Argon, arriving in Portland after living in Austin, Boston, Brooklyn, Boulder, and Kauai, with short stays in a handful of other great US cities. In the early 2000s, he worked professionally as a graphic designer, watermelon salesman, documentary filmmaker, laborer, and musician before an odd talent for acing standardized tests landed him a job as an instructor and curriculum writer at a test-prep startup in New York.
Many years later, after following a side interest to get a Master's in Acupuncture, he realized that he'd never fully scratched the itch he'd once had to learn how to code. So he enrolled in a bootcamp and shortly thereafter landed at Planet Argon as a Junior Ruby on Rails Developer.
When he's not coding, Brian is probably laughing with his daughter, “soulfully channeling the gods of rock” with his electric guitar, or starting another project in a long list of urban homesteading experiments.
How often I found where I should be going only by setting out for somewhere else.
