Siobhan accidentally moved to Portland from Ireland when a three-month honeymoon turned into a long-term move. Having worked as a Project Manager and Applications Engineer in the Network Software industry for six years, she went in search of a more creative path at Planet Argon.
Siobhan’s love of all things computing began in the early 90’s with the Commodore 64 and later re-building desktop computers with her big brother. This inspired her to pursue a university experience in Physics and then Digital Media Engineering at University College Dublin. Early in this path, it became clear that her interests lay more strongly in people’s interaction with technology than with transistors and diodes.
Within months of graduation and starting out as a Network Software Engineer, Siobhan stepped into a Project Management Role at Intel. She worked on Open Source Software projects with a focus on high-performance team building and organizational excellence. She completed her Masters in Project and Programme Management from the University of Limerick in 2015 and moved on to a Project Management consultancy role with customers.
When not strategizing and problem-solving, Siobhan spends her time coaching Portland’s local hurling team, Willamette Hurling Club, making wedding and birthday cakes, and going to Trail Blazer and Portland Timbers games.
