Emily unknowingly started her life-long passion for problem-solving at a young age by way of music – specifically, learning how to play different instruments. Eventually, the cello kept her interest and she went on to study cello performance at The Boston Conservatory and Arizona State University.
After moving back to Portland, Emily realized her interest in music wasn’t so much a passion for the creative expression but rather a fun technical problem to solve. She started looking for other fun problems to solve and fell in love with programming. Nowadays, Emily enjoys learning all things software, figuring out why and how things work (and don’t work), and finding creativity within the structure of programming.
When she’s not working, Emily enjoys finding new and interesting foods to cook, learning how to bake good bread, and getting lost in a captivating book.
You must do the things you think you cannot do.
